Escape to the Country

Sometimes it’s wonderful how life’s timings work out. In the mist of a week of stress, running about and endless organisation- a preplanned save the date rolled around with a trip to the New Forest pencilled into the diary. Having noted it weeks ago, I was soon belted into the backseat of a car, raring along the M25- past fields of green and wild horses dotted along the roadside, before turning into the Lime Wood Hotel– a little under two hours from home.

Having been whisked here by one of my favourite skincare brands Fresh, to celebrate their gorgeous new Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner– the 24 hours we stayed were centred around roses, with everything from an arrival greeted by rose-filled baskets on bikes, floral crown making workshops and a deeply relaxing facial using a majority of their signature rose range (not to mention a room filled floor to ceiling with petals). We also learnt about the careful and extensive process their products go through to get to where they are- with endless layers of care and intricacy going into every bottle (with every petal in each being completely, you guessed it, fresh) and a fusion of science, knowledge and innovation to ensure hydration, clear pollution and make sure skin is soft and supple- dreamy, right?

Not only that, but having heard endless wonderful things about the Lime Wood, I was ridiculously excited to visit the hotel- and can assure you it’s every inch as beautiful as you may imagine. With acres of surrounding green and woodland (including the view from my bath tub in the morning), as well as a stunning restaurant and spa- it truly felt worlds away from my never-ending to do list and unpacked suitcases at home. I’m sure that if I hadn’t been tempted out of bed for a morning yoga class (and the promise of breakfast afterwards) I’d still be curled up amongst those sheets now…
