Chanel Cruise 2017, Beauty Edition

As my make up bag continues to change, evolve and blossom season to season (be it with the coming and going of empties, new launches and must-trys)- the one brand who is seemingly omnipresent (be it in skin care, make up or fragrance) is Chanel. I may be a little way from a bag just yet, but trust me when I say their beauty collection is something I cherish in my collection…

Now, I’m rarely one to get overly excited about seasonal launches- and prefer to sample new products as and when I need them, but the story, narrative and palette of Chanel’s new Les Indispensables De L’ete Cruise Collection had me at hello, and I couldn’t wait to share some of their beautiful new summer offerings. Perhaps it was the practicality, the low-maintence effortless cool of dewy summer skin and the beach-bag-to-pool feel (with a glowy less is more stance)- but the collection, built of earthy tones and peachy nudes, felt like it was ticking every box for the perfect bare essentials of my summer make up bag (that, and if you’re travelling with hand luggage only- girl gotta keep things to a minimal around here too)…

Let’s start with the foundation- their new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation (with mine being in shade 20). If like me you’re after radiant ~lit from within~ skin (I think that’s what beauty ed’s call a real glow) than let me introduce you to this little gem. With it’s consistency being over half water based (and with an excellent, non heavy SPF coverage of 25)- it’s the ultimate non-greasy light foundation. It’s definitely one for good skin days (although it won’t do a tonne for blemishes, it will aid dark circles) and I’ve found it perfect for warm days where I’m after a little coverage that doesn’t feel at all matte or heavy. Paired with concealer on days where a little extra help is needed, it’s truly a gorgeous summer foundation, and layered with their
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Powder make for a total power pair.

Another new-in from the brand I’ve been loving is their Les Beiges Blush (a cream blush stick) in no 24. If I’m going for a more matte foundation, this creamy blush is perfect for adding a bit of glow and a rosy flush to a thicker base- and also acts as a wonderful guise if you haven’t quite managed to catch any natural colour either (but I won’t tell if you won’t). I recently saw my friend Lucy recommend applying a little to your nose for a true natural sun-kissed look and I’ve been loving giving that a go with this too.

To add to the perfect summer collection- their corally pink polishes (particularly Coquillage and Coralium) also are the most beautiful compliments to a sun kissed look, and are the perfect middle ground between a tangerine and pink shade- dreamy!

Finally- I have to mention their Chanel Three Moods gel perfumes, which are pretty a-mazing indeed. Coming in three handbag sized pots, these small shimmering gels are scented like their perfumes- but apply as a gel cream- meaning you can add it to your shoulders, décolletage or neck for a subtle glow with the most beautiful scent too. I know I’ll be taking it for evenings out after long days in the sunshine (and keeping one in my bag too)…
